Just a reminder that this whole week (Sept 30-Oct 4) is Sustainability Week at Queen’s! Be sure to take part in our clothing swap Oct 2nd 10am-5pm and Oct 3rd 10am-5pm happening in the ARC (ground floor). You can drop off clothing all week at the Earth Centre and also during the swap itself if you want. It will be a first come, first serve basis so be sure to come early.

The Earth Centre is looking for co-chairs for the 2013-2014 school year! We would like to invite everyone (both undergraduates and graduates are welcome) to apply for these positions, no experience is required. We are looking for individuals who show strong leadership, commitment, and organization skills. You will find this an extremely rewarding position if you are passionate about sustainability and have an interest in environmental topics and initiatives.
The application is due by email to firstname.lastname@example.org by Wednesday March 6th at midnight. Please include your name and ‘Co-Chair Application’ in the subject line. Within the few days following the deadline, we will be in contact with you regarding further steps (ie. interviews).

The Earth Centre and our friends, STRIVE, are hosting a conference on water issues to raise awareness about the bottled water ban at Queen’s which is set to begin in September, 2012. Our speakers will adress a number of pertinent water issues, including bottled water and the impacts of oil spills on freshwater ecosystems (related to the Northern Gateway Pipeline).
This event will be held 6:30-9:30pm in Dunning Auditorium. Entrance is free and complimentary refreshments and snacks will be offered.
